Our Story: The Summer That Got Away
It was a regular night at the office in 2019 when the founder of Roahtrip, Daniel, got a text from his wife. It wasn't a picture of his son's smiling face. It was a picture of an empty car seat and a stunning sunset through the window.
The message read: "He asked when you're coming home again. Summer's almost over, and we still
haven't taken that road trip we promised him."
In that moment, it hit him. He had built a cage out of "being busy" and locked his family inside. The
adventures he promised were constantly traded for spreadsheets and strategy meetings. He wasn't
building a future; he was missing the present.
Roahtrip was born from that simple regret. We exist for one reason: to make sure "maybe next time" doesn't become the most common phrase you say to your family.
We are a group of engineers and designers, but first, we are parents, partners, and adventurers. We knew the excuses that stop a trip before it starts: the car is too small, the gear is too expensive, it's too much hassle... These seemingly logical "villains" were stealing precious weekends that should be filled with laughter.
